Otherwise, sealant should not be painted for 2 hours or exposed to water for 8 hours. Do not touch for 24 hours, unless applying paint. Apply paint with reduced applicator pressure to avoid disturbing the sealant. Compatible with most latex and oil-based paints.

12-hour water-ready: Exposure to water possible in 12 hours with bead size max ¼” (6.3 mm), temperature min 65°F (18.3°C) and humidity min 50%. Otherwise, sealant should not be exposed to water for 24 hours. Do not touch or clean sealant for 24 hours, or until fully cured.
For use on galvanized surfaces, some metal finishes: Test on an inconspicuous area on metal finishes, concrete, and natural stone surfaces, as some blemishing may occur during cure.
60-minute paint-ready: Sealant can be painted 60 minutes after application with latex paint or primer for bead size 1/4″, temperature min 65°F & humidity min 50%. Otherwise, sealant should not be painted for 2 hours. Allow to dry 24 hours if using oil-based paints, using latex primer first and test on an inconspicuous area for best results. Apply paint with reduced applicator pressure to avoid disturbing the caulk. Clean-up with a damp, disposable cloth; do not rinse.
Excellent adhesion to wet or dry surfaces: Sealant can be applied to damp or dry surfaces. For wet surfaces, wipe off excess water before applying. Do not apply to materials that are water saturated such as wood and concrete. Do not use in areas of ponding water.
Max Shield sealant can span up to 2-inch gaps with over 600% stretch and 25% joint movement: Based on ASTM C-920, TYPE-S, NS, CLASS 25 analysis, product can span gaps of up to 2-inches wide and 1/2 inch deep with over 600% stretch and 25% joint movement.
The durable seal resists cracking, chalking, and crumbling in all seasons, and is guaranteed for sixty years: Manufacturer warrants that this product, when handled and used as directed, will meet the above specifications for sixty years. Use backer rod for gaps deeper than 1/2” : Sealant depth should be controlled with a closed cell, non- gassing type backer rod. Backer rod should be slightly larger in diameter (25 to 50%) than the joint width.
Meets ASTM C-920, Class 25: Based on ASTM C-920, TYPE-S, NS, CLASS 25 analysis, product can span gaps of up to 5/8” x 5/8” with over 347% elongation and 25% joint movement.
